Player Profile – Will Glover
HKFC Hockey Team: Men’s A team
Position: Forward
How long have you been playing, and where did you start: My dad played hockey, so I started as soon as I could walk. I grew up in a hockey hotbed of a town called Cannock, in Staffordshire, but played for other clubs while away at school and university (Brean, Gloucester City and Havant) before going back to Cannock.
How long have you played at HKFC: This is my 11th season.
What’s been your HKFC hockey highlight: beating Pakistan Association 5-0 in a winner-takes-all league decider in 2007.
What’s been your overall hockey career highlight: beating bitter rivals Reading in a penalty shootout to win Cannock’s third national league title in a row in 2000 (sorry Howard!).
Favourite thing about playing for HKFC: The absolutely spell binding location… I still have to pinch myself when you look around from the hockey pitch
Tell us something about yourself you don’t think other people would know: I hate peas
