Player Profile – Alison Cabrelli
HKFC Hockey Team: The Dinos, ie Club’s F team (we were originally the Ds, became the Es and are now the Fabulous Dinos!)
Position: Left back
How long have you been playing, and where did you start: I have been playing since the age of 11, I started at school in Aberdeen, at Bankhead (” Bunkheid”) Academy where I played left and right inner for the second XI.
How long have you played at HKFC: I started playing for Club in the D team in 1981, I was centre midfield and scored many goals!
What’s been your HKFC hockey highlight: Being awarded the Good Egg award by the Ladies A team captained by Pam Butler (I was playing up from the Bs).
What’s been your overall hockey career highlight: Playing left back in a Vets tournament in Perth WA I saved a goal off the line from a strike from by a former Australian Olympian player – WOO HOO!
Favourite thing about playing for HKFC: The camaraderie, the competitiveness, the characters and the FUN!
Tell us something about yourself you don’t think other people would know: I have three brothers and a sister, none of whom play hockey and no, I don’t have a pierced nipple or a tattoo.
